Home

Every report of a bug, grouped into one issue.

See repeated failures together. Open a report for its time, release, recorded evidence and, if your app sends it, the user who hit it.

The demo needs no account, and its report stays in your browser tab.

Grouping

Fix each bug once.

Every report of the same failure goes under one issue, with a count. Each report keeps its time, platform, release, environment and, if you send it, the user.

What is in a bug report

It depends on the platform and your capture settings. The bug page shows what was captured and says plainly what was not.

WEB

Page replay

Up to ten minutes of page activity before the error, depending on session age and event limits. Rebuilt from the DOM, not screen video.

REQUEST + CONSOLE

Failed request and console

The request that failed, console output, errors and stack frames, kept with that report.

IMPACT

Affected users

Users show up by ID when your app sends one. Anonymous reports stay anonymous.

Impact

See how many users a bug affects.

Step through each report of an issue. Each one has its own replay, requests, console and stack, and the user if your app sends user IDs.

Web installation

Install on a web app

Create a free project, copy its project key from Setup, then add the script tag, or npm install @bugtape/sdk with a bundler.

  1. Create a project

    Setup mints a bt_live_* project key and shows it once.

  2. Paste the script tag

    Call init once, after your cookie or consent banner allows it.

  3. Throw a test error

    Give it a name you will recognise. Setup tells you when it arrives, and you can open it.

Browser · hosted ES module
<script type="module">
  import { init } from 'https://app.bugtape.ai/bugtape.mjs';
  init({ apiKey: 'bt_live_your_key_here' });
</script>

What you get on each platform

Every platform reports into the same inbox. The evidence you get is different.

WEB

Replay, requests, console and stack

Replay is rebuilt from captured DOM events. Set up masking for anything private on screen.

SWIFT + REACT NATIVE

Handled errors and breadcrumbs

No browser replay. Fatal native crash capture and symbolication are not claimed.

SERVER

What your server sends

Server reports do not create browser history. Send platform, stack and relevant metadata explicitly.

Start free and see your own first issue.

Create a workspace, add one script tag, and the next error arrives with its replay, request and stack.

FAQ

Can I try BugTape with no account?

Yes. npx -y bugtape --help prints the CLI and does not sign you in. The live demo runs in your browser and sends nothing. The demo MCP at https://app.bugtape.ai/demo/mcp needs no sign-in. Your own workspace needs one.

Does BugTape record every session?

No. It keeps a short buffer in the browser and sends that buffer with a supported error or a user report.
